On June 23rd, 2001 the “Lyudmila Jivkova - Banner of Peace” Foundation carries out at the “Bells” Monument in Sofia a Children’s Assembly titled “The 21st century – Epoch of Peace”. The artistic programme includes a concert, entertainment games and quizes, accompanied by awards and presents, children’s musical performances and a competition for a drawing on asphalt. Two new bells are mounted – the one presented by the first woman cosmonaut Valentina Tereshkova, and the second – by Indonesia. An Address of the children participating in the Assembly to all children and people of the world is written down and adopted. As a sign of gratitude and acknowledgement the children express in their Address their thankfulness to the UN, UNICEF and UNESCO. Guests to the event are Queen Margarita, Anna Sendova, the Archbishop of Stara Zagora Galaktion, children from the Shao Lin Monastery, and the singer Bogdan Tomov as host.
