"Banner of peace" Assembly 2005

On May 28th, 2005 on the “Hristo Botev” square in the town of Vratsa the “Lyudmila Jivkova - Banner of Peace” Foundation together with the Vratsa Municipality carry out the Seventh Children’s Assembly. For the first time it is organized outside Sofia – in the town turned symbol of freedom, for which the great Bulgarian revolutionary Hristo Botev had fought. The idea is to give a chance to children from other cities and towns in the country to host this traditional and popular children’s holiday. The Assembly’s motto this time is “Let’s Change the World for Children Together with the Children!”. It is under the patronage of the First Lady Mrs. Zorka Parvanova. A bell with the inscription “Banner of Peace – Vratsa 2005” is installed on the central square of the town. An exhibition titled “Banner of Peace – Past, Present, Future” is opened, representing a retrospection from the Golden Fund of the Assembly. Guests to the event are Voyslav Bubev, Vratsa’s Mayor, the deputy-mayors, the Vratsa bishop Kalinik, and the Chairwoman of the Municipal Students’ Council Svetla Tonashka.
